Again And Again! NTT KKP Finds 8 Passengers With Fake COVID-Free Letters

KUPANG - The Class III Port Health Office (KKP) of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) canceled the departure of eight sea ship passengers because they were suspected of carrying fake COVID-19 free certificates from one of the health examination laboratories.

"In the last few days, officers at the ASDP Bolok Port and the Pelni Tenau Port in Kupang found eight cases of passengers carrying fake COVID-19 free certificates," said Head of the Kupang KKP Administration Sub-Section, Hengky Jezua in Kupang, Antara, Tuesday, 6. July.

The passenger who brought the fake COVID-19 free certificate was immediately detained and prohibited from traveling again. They plan to travel to the island of Java and the NTT region.

"Passengers just called the laboratory, then when they were about to leave someone brought a COVID-19 free certificate and gave it to them," said Hengky.

Hengky refused to mention the name of the laboratory that issued the COVID-19 free certificate. However, it is certain that the laboratory will receive a strong reprimand.

He admitted that this case is already in the criminal realm so that it can be reported to the police. However, for now, he will only give a stern warning for learning. Hengky admitted that he was surprised that in the midst of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, there are still people who are looking for profit.

Therefore, he said, people who will travel are asked to bring an original COVID-19 free certificate because it is for the good of themselves and others.
