The Lack Of The Spread Of COVID-19 In Bekasi

JAKARTA - Handling the spread of COVID-19 in Bekasi City can be said to be quite good. Based on existing data, during the last two days there was only 1 addition of positive cases.

Quoting the corona.bekasikota.go.id website, data as of May 25, the number of positive cases reached 296 people. Two days later, there were 279 positive COVID-19 patients.

Then, referring to cured cases, it can be said that the patient's cure rate is quite high, with 250 people. Meanwhile, for cases of death, 32 people died from COVID-19.

For now, about 15 people are battling the virus to recover and be able to return to activities. Meanwhile, the number of patients under surveillance (PDP) is quite high, reaching 1,046 people. Even with people under monitoring (ODP) 3,236 people.

Of the dozens of Districts in Bekasi City, the highest number of positive cases is still in South Bekasi with 44 people. On the other hand, Bantar Gebang was the sub-district with the fewest positive cases with only 4 people being infected.

Virus transmission decreases

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had mentioned that the curve of the spread of COVID-19 in Bekasi City, West Java, had begun to be under control. This is evidenced by the reproduction rate below 1.

"The figures, the facts in the field, the figures on how the R0 curve is like in Bekasi is below 1, are good," Jokowi said in Bekasi, Tuesday, May 26.

With a low level of transmission, Jokowi asked West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and Bekasi Mayor Rachmat Effendy to consistently maintain and suppress and break the chain of the spread of COVID-19.

So that, later on, the community will be able to return to their activities and have an impact on the increase in the economic sector, which previously dropped at the beginning of the COVID-19 period.
