"So how is the process of him bringing methamphetamine, then equipped with a firearm, that is still being investigated and this case has become the attention of the leadership", he said.
Regarding the possession of homemade firearms with four live bullets, he said that Brimob as a police officer with expertise in weaponry had carried out an in-depth examination.
The results of the inspection, he said, were that the firearms in JD's possession were assembled, not factory output, and the four bullets were still active.
"Then for how to use it by inserting one bullet, cock, and shoot. So it is used for one-shot only", he said. Regarding the origin of the perpetrators and the mastery of the homemade firearms, Kadek assured that this matter is now in the process of developing an investigation.
"According to provisional information from the relevant confession, this item was purchased for IDR 400 thousand. From whom, we are investigating", he said.
The case, which has now entered the investigation process, said the police had named the perpetrator as a suspect suspected of violating Article 1 Paragraph 1 of the Indonesian Emergency Law No. 12/1951 with a penalty of nine years in prison.
The Head of the NTB Hunting and Shooting Union, Agus Hakim, who was also present at the press conference accompanying the police, explained that civilian ownership or control of firearms must have police permission. Likewise with the conditions for the use of active bullets.
Despite obtaining a permit, he said, its use is limited. The rules of firearms can only be used when in practice or competition.
"So not just any civil society controls firearms. Whatever the reason, there must be a permit by holding an official letter from the police, in this case, the NTB Regional Police. Moreover, firearms for investment must go through a strict permit selection", said Agus.
