DKI Opens Command Post For COVID-19 Body Remediation Assistance At Monas

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that the DKI Provincial Government is currently opening a post for the relocation of COVID-19 bodies. This post was established in the Monas area, Central Jakarta.

Anies said, the scoping post functions to channel teams to help residents if they have a family member who has died positive for COVID-19. This team will memulasarkan to bury the corpse.

"There is a scouring post here. When someone dies in the village or in the complex, and then requires a scouring, the team at Monas will be sent to carry out the scouring until the funeral," Anies told reporters, Monday, July 5.

Anies said this team was not from the City Parks and Forest Service officers. Given the insufficient number of personnel due to the surge in corona cases, Anies placed the ranks of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) as team members.

Because, at this time the need for curing and burial of corpses in Jakarta is increasing. "With the increasing volume of requests, we add a team from BPBD. They then prepare a team that can be sent directly," said Anies.

For residents who need assistance with relocation and burial personnel, the first step is to report to the local RT-RW. Then, the request is forwarded to the kelurahan and the local health center will contact the scouring post.

"The village will contact us (the command post). Usually, they are immediately under monitoring. Then, they will describe the scouring team, then the scouring team will send personnel," explained Anies.

In addition, Anies also opened a post for filling oxygen cylinders at Monas under the name Oxygen Rescue. DKI provides free refilling of 10 tubes for every hospital in Jakarta.

The creation of this oxygen cylinder post was carried out to minimize vacancies in hospital supplies for patients in need. Currently, the scarcity of oxygen in hospitals is due to distribution constraints.
