JAKARTA - The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration stated that 20 foreign workers (TKA) entered Indonesia before the Java-Bali Emergency Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) were imposed on July 3-20. The Head of Public Relations and General Affairs of the Directorate General of Immigration Arya Pradhana Anggakara explained that the foreign worker landed at Makassar's Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport on a Citilink QG-426 aircraft on Saturday, July 3. at 20.25 WITA from Jakarta

"All foreign workers enter Indonesia and have gone through immigration checks at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Immigration Checkpoint on June 25, 2021, which is before the Emergency PPKM Period in Java and Bali from July 3-20, 2021," said Arya Pradhana, quoted by Antara, Sunday, July 4 .

The Directorate General of Immigration provided clarification regarding the widespread news about the entry of 20 foreign workers into Indonesian territory during the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM.

According to Arya, the 20 foreign workers are prospective foreign workers who will work in order to test their ability to work at the PT Huady Nickel-Alloy National Strategic Project (PSN) Bantaeng Regency, South Sulawesi.

The Ministry of Law and Human Rights emphasized that the government is still banning foreigners from entering Indonesian territory to prevent a spike in the spread of COVID-19. This prohibition rule refers to the Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation Number 26 of 2020 concerning visas and residence permits during the adaptation period of new habits.

This rule, said Arya, excludes the entry of foreigners for essential purposes such as working on national strategic projects, family unions, and humanitarian reasons.

"In addition to meeting the immigration requirements, foreigners who enter Indonesia must pass a health check by the Ministry of Health team according to the protocol for the arrival of people from abroad," he said.
