Deddy Corbuzier's Clarification Regarding Interview With Siti Fadilah: I Was Just A Gathering

JAKARTA - The magician who is now a Youtuber, Deddy Corbuzier clarified the statement of the Directorate General of Community (Ditjenpas) which said he did not have permission to interview former Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari who was a convict in a corruption case. In the video uploaded on the Instagram account @mastercorbuzier, Deddy admitted that he only wanted to stay in touch with Siti Fadilah, who was currently hospitalized at the Kartika Pavilion, Gatot Subroto Army Hospital for asthma. However, in the video, Deddy does not explain in detail about whether he has a permit or not. However, Deddy confirmed that the interview he did was free of coercion and Siti was also willing.

I asked for permission from Mrs. Siti Fadilah and was allowed without the slightest coercion because she wanted information for the Indonesian people that could help our nation solve the COVID-19 pandemic. He ensured that the contents of the interview did not contain hoaxes, provocation, and only aimed to convey information. Deddy also denied the statement made by the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of the Directorate General of Social Affairs, Rika Aprianti, that she disguised herself when she entered the hospital.

"In some media, there is a lot of false news that says I disguise using a mask. I laugh when they say I use a mask to disguise myself," he said with a smile.

Deddy then emphasized that he was not tied to political parties, groups, or any needs in each of his interviews. According to him, he did this interview solely so that Indonesia could face the COVID-19 pandemic.

To netizens and the public, this Youtuber also asked that he no longer need to have long polemics. Given, at this time Siti Fadilah was old and contributed to saving and even stopping the SARS pandemic when he was in office.

"Never mind, sorry Mrs. Siti Fadilah she is over 70 years old. Whether or not she is a corruptor is not my business and I don't know. But what I know about her saving Indonesia, stopping the pandemic even in the world when SARS happened was news and facts that are already scattered everywhere, "he said.

Deddy then asked, in this pandemic era, it is better not to talk about things that are not essential. Moreover, the video interview is considered to provide information that can build the Indonesian nation so that it can stand alone against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Statement of the Directorate General of PAS

As previously reported, the Directorate General of Community Affairs (Ditjenpas) revealed the chronology of the unauthorized interview between the magician who is now a Youtuber, Deddy Corbuzier, and former Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari, who was a prisoner for a gratification case.

Based on information from the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of the Directorate General of Public Relations, Rika Aprianti, the interview took place in the Kartika Pavilion Room at Gatot Subroto Army Hospital at around 21.30 WIB, Wednesday, May 20.

At that time there were two men and two women who entered the ex-Minister of Health's ward. The four of them use masks complete with headgear. One of them is Deddy Corbuzier. After entering, the door to the room was then locked from the inside.

"The officer on duty did not have time to ask because when he was about to ask what the guest's interests and needs were, the door to the room had been locked from the inside. Including a nurse who wanted to enter the ward to give medicine was prohibited from entering by the person concerned (Siti Fadilah)," he said. The interview, which was estimated to be completed at 23.30, was not realized by the Directorate General of Social and Political Sciences and the Rutan Pondok Bambu. In fact, the remand center only found out about the interview after seeing the video of the two interviews through Deddy Corbuzier's Instagram account on Thursday, May 21.

Ditjenpas emphasized that the interview was not in accordance with the requirements of the Regulation of the Minister of Law Number M.HH-01.IN.04.03 which was published on 5 October 2011 ago. In this regulation, it is explained:
