JAKARTA - Depok Mayor Mohammad Idris stated that with the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM), shopping centers or malls, large markets, sports venues, tourist attractions, and activities at places of worship were closed, while grocery stores were still allowed to operate safely. operating hours restrictions.

"We are ready to implement the Emergency PPKM set by the central government, by conducting socialization to the lowest level," said Mohammad Idris in Depok, as reported by Antara, Friday, July 2.

He said, currently Depok City along with 11 regencies/cities in West Java Province and a number of areas in Jabodetabek have level 4 status. This means that they have a high emergency level or are in the COVID-19 red zone.

"So that the implementation of the Emergency PPKM instructed by the central government, we really support us in realizing the restrictions, even closing some activities in the community," he said.

"Indeed, its implementation will cause inconvenience. I hope people do not panic and remain calm. This is for the sake of mutual health and requires the cooperation of all parties," he explained.

Mohammad Idris said that the central government will implement Emergency PPKM starting July 3, 2021. The period for the implementation of this policy is about two weeks.

"This is just a directive from the president, and recently the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, has also given us direction and reinforcement regarding the details so that it can be disseminated to the RT/RW level," he explained.

He said that at this time his party was still waiting for official instructions from the relevant minister. This instruction will be the basis for the issuance of the Mayor's Decree to be disseminated to the public the next day.

"That way, we can implement this policy with careful preparations. Of course all of this requires cooperation between the government, TNI-Polri, and stakeholders in the community," he said.
