JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria emphasized that there will be severe sanctions for any violations committed during the implementation of the emergency community activity restrictions (PPKM) in this province from July 3-20.

According to Riza, the sanctions do not only apply to the community but all parties, including the authorities.

"Sanctions are very heavy by being given action, not only the community, but against us, including the ranks of the apparatus at the provincial, district and lower levels. If they do not carry out their duties, they will be given severe sanctions," Riza told reporters, Thursday, July 1.

Deputy Governor Riza said that there would be supervision of the implementation of every rule, including strict restrictions in offices and places of business, even to take action with the help of elements of the TNI and Polri.

"Any offices or business units, anywhere and anytime that violate the emergency PPKM regulations will be acted upon and given the strictest and most severe sanctions," said Riza.

Riza said the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has coordinated with the Polda Metro Jaya, Kodam Jaya, and the Prosecutor's Office to supervise, monitor, and take action against violations of the implementation of emergency PPKM, whether committed by individuals or units or business entities.

One of the forms, said Riza, is that there will be a mobile operation to ensure that the emergency PPKM provisions are actually implemented.

"Of course there will be operations, supervision, monitoring, and enforcement, we will increase it and we will present the apparatus according to need, with the number we have," said Riza.

Riza reminded that offices or places of business should maximize the role of the internal COVID-19 task force in enforcing emergency PPKM rules.

According to him, all parties must take responsibility for controlling the spread of COVID-19, not only private offices, but government offices.

"Of course, every office has a task force to ensure that the office (employees and employees) work from home, especially for the non-essential," he said.

Riza did not clearly mention the severe sanctions in question. He ensured that all emergency PPKM provisions would follow the provisions made by the central government.

So far, the DKI Provincial Government has imposed sanctions on offices and business places that violate the micro PPKM provisions, including written warnings, temporary closures, fines, to freezing and revocation of business licenses.
