There Are 465 Thousand Vehicles Leaving Jakarta Ahead Of Eid

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) said the number of vehicles leaving the Jakarta area to the east, west and south on D-7 to D-1 Eid reached 465,582 units. Even though it reaches hundreds of thousands, however, this figure is said to have decreased by 62 percent from the last Eid 2019 period.

"Traffic distribution in the three directions is 39 percent from the East, 34 percent from the West, and 27 percent from the South," said Jasa Marga Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Dwimawan Heru in a written statement, Sunday, May 24. .

Dwimawan then detailed, vehicles leaving Jakarta heading east through two Toll Gates (GT) to replace the Cikarang Utama GT, namely the Cikampek Utama GT for road users to the Trans Java Toll Road and the Kalihurip Utama GT for road users to the Cipularang-Padaleunyi Toll Road.

Jasa Marga recorded 103,440 units of vehicles passing through the Cikampek Utama GT, down 81 percent from the previous Lebaran. Meanwhile, the number of vehicles passing the Kalihurip Utama GT totaled 76,357 or decreased by 64 percent.

"That way the total number of vehicles passing to the East is 179,797 vehicles, a decrease of 76 percent from Lebaran 2019," said Dwimawan.

As for vehicles to the west, Jasa Marga noted that the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta from the West via the GT Cikupa Merak-Tangerang Toll Road was 157,926 vehicles, a decrease of 42 percent from Lebaran in 2019.

Then the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta to the south or locally passing the Ciawi GT to Jagorawi Toll Road totaled 127,859 vehicles or decreased by 33 percent from last Eid.

For daily traffic from D-7 to D-1 Lebaran, Jasa Marga noted that the highest traffic for vehicles leaving Jakarta from the three directions occurred on D-4 Lebaran, amounting to 92,668 vehicles.

"Jasa Marga urges toll road users to actively participate in preventing the transmission of Covid-19, by not going home and not having a picnic in Lebaran 2020. In addition, limit travel and maintain distance, leaving the house only for urgent situations," concluded Dwimawan.
