More Than 4 Thousand People In Semarang City Died Due To COVID-19

JAKARTA - Patients with COVID-19 in the city of Semarang, Central Java, who were reported to have died, exceeded the number of more than 4,000 people.

Based on data from the https://siagacorona.semarangkota.go.id page as of Wednesday, June 30 at 13.00 WIB, the number of patients who died from COVID-19 was recorded at 4,014 people.

Of these, 2,654 people are residents of the city of Semarang, while the remaining 1,360 people are residents outside the capital city of Central Java.

The number of positive patients was recorded at 2,147 people, of which 1,574 patients were residents of Semarang City and the remaining 573 people came from outside Semarang.

Previously, Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi encouraged cooperation with various private parties to open isolation houses to increase the number of available beds for COVID patients.

According to him, there have been an additional 490 beds in various locations which are in collaboration with various educational institutions and community organizations.

In fact, a hospital in the Kedungmundu area, Semarang City, which has not yet had time to operate has been used as a COVID-19 emergency hospital with a capacity of 106 beds and 12 emergency rooms.

The Semarang City Government has also boosted the achievement of COVID-19 vaccination by opening vaccination centers at various points.

He believes the achievement of vaccination of up to 6,000 people per day can be met to accelerate the vaccination program.

"Many vaccination centers with online registration systems are expected to increase the convenience of the people who will be vaccinated," he said as quoted by Antara.
