JAKARTA - Former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo believes he is innocent in the alleged bribery case for the permit to export lobster seeds or fry. Edhy Prabowo was prosecuted by the KPK with a prison sentence of 5 years and a fine of IDR 400 million.

"I don't feel wrong, and I have no authority over it. I have delegated it. All the evidence in the trial has been revealed, nothing. I submit everything to the panel of judges," said Edhy Prabowo to reporters at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 29. .

Not only that, Edhy 'fitted up' in this case. Because, he said he was responsible for everything that happened at the Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs.

"What must be noted is that I am responsible for events in my Ministry, I do not run away from responsibility but I cannot control all the mistakes made by my staff. Once again their fault is my fault because I was negligent," he said.

Edhy Prabowo also claimed that he only found out that his subordinates had received bribes during the trial. For that reason, Edhy Prabowo emphasized that he was not involved in the corruption crime as charged by the prosecutor.

"I don't feel it, because I don't know what my subordinates are doing. I also know at this trial how I set the game to hand people over, if I want corruption, there are many things I can do if I want corruption. "Many permits, from the start you can do that," he said

"As the chairman of commission IV, I have been the chairman of the commission for 5 years. So my friends don't mean to cover up I'm just talking about facts, why should I teach my subordinates to make money but small ones if the intention is corruption. There is no intention The intention of my life is to corrupt, let alone steal," continued Edhy Prabowo.

In a follow-up trial with the agenda for reading the defense (pleidoi), Edhy Prabowo will explain the whole thing.

Edhy Prabowo was sentenced to 5 years in prison. In addition to imprisonment, Edhy Prabowo is also required to be fined Rp. 400 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

In addition, the prosecutor decided that Edhy Prabowo legally and convincingly committed a criminal act of corruption.
