COVID-19 Cases In Tangerang Soared, Corona Patient Room Added

TANGERANG - Spokesperson for the Task Force (Satgas) for Handling and Combating COVID-19 in Tangerang Regency, Banten, Hendra Tarmizi said the trend of positive cases of COVID-19 had increased. The number of new cases per day reaches 130 people.

"If there were 130 cases per day starting from June 16, 2021 yesterday, there were usually only 50-80 cases per day," said Hendra, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 29.

He revealed, the spike in positive cases of COVID-19 occurred since June 16, 2021. In one day his party found up to 100 people more exposed.

If accumulated in a week, there are 300 active cases of corona virus exposure in Tangerang Regency.

"But besides the increasing number of cases, the recovered cases are also fairly good, because there are more than 90 percent of people who have recovered," he said.

Then, he continued, in recent weeks the number of deaths due to COVID-19 has also increased significantly.

One of the reasons is the large number of patients who require special care, but the capacity of the treatment room is full, so many of them have to queue for treatment.

"Until now, there have been a total of 280 deaths. This figure is still low nationally," he said.

Meanwhile, from existing data, active cases in Tangerang Regency reached 12,785 people, of which 571 people underwent isolation and 191 people were being treated in hospital.

As for the confirmed cases, 11,725 people recovered and 286 people died.

Hendra added, with cases continuing to increase, the Tangerang Regency Government is currently preparing additional treatment rooms for COVID-19 patients at several referral hospitals.
