Tonight, There Is A Mass PSBB Night Market Raid In Jakarta

JAKARTA - Head of Satpol PP DKI Arifin said there will be a massive night market raid in Jakarta. This is because Arifin received reports from the public that ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, many roads were transformed into night markets.

In fact, currently Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) are still being implemented until 4 June. Therefore, market activities that gather people, both traders who sell and buy, are clearly prohibited.

"I get a lot of reports that now night markets are reopening. Therefore, tonight there will be large-scale operations in each administrative city, simultaneously starting at 19.00 to 24.00 WIB," Arifin told reporters, Friday, 22 May.

Tonight, the Satpol PP ranks will move simultaneously to comb the area used to curb night market activities. Vehicles owned by Satpol PP, both four-wheeled and two-wheeled, will be completely unloaded.

"This is the first day of the PSBB which will be continued with the third phase. This joint operation has more people, many vehicles have been involved," he said.

For traders and buyers who are caught in raids at the night market, Arifin will apply witnesses based on Governor Regulation Number 41 of 2020 concerning the imposition of sanctions for PSBB violators.

"There are various sanctions, ranging from reprimands, social work sanctions such as sweeping, sealing sanctions if he is a place of business, and there are also penalties if he is not an exempt place of business," he said.

Furthermore, until now the Satpol PP personnel have sealed off 452 business establishments for violating the PSBB. In addition, there were 8,511 reprimands for individuals, 1,718 people had to do social work, and 392 people paid fines for violating the PSBB.

"For the imposition of fines, until now the regional cash has been deposited around Rp.350 million," said Arifin.

"Satpol PP will never stop, will never tire. We will continue to tighten supervision, discipline, and prosecution of residents who violate the PSBB," he added.
