JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan gave a message to health workers (nakes) to maintain the spirit to treat patients. Because the current surge in COVID-19 cases makes the number of patients who must be treated continues to grow.

This was conveyed by Anies via an online video link to health workers while reviewing health services at the Koja Regional General Hospital (RSUD), North Jakarta.

"We meet fellow medical personnel who work 24 hours at hospitals in Jakarta. I advise anyone who comes, treat them like our own brothers. Give your best, so that everyone can return home, reunite with their families," said Anies on location, Tuesday, June 29.

Anies explained that the current surge in the volume of patients being treated is very large. He realized that health facilities needed additional support, both resources and manpower for medical and non-medical purposes.

For example, power to facilitate the transfer of tools, oxygen cylinders, and so on. It is hoped that by doing so, medical personnel will focus more on the process of treating and healing patients.

Therefore, Anies promised to mobilize workers to be able to help health and support workers who are currently working in hospitals. This is done so that the medical team can focus on treating patients and other supporting activities can be assisted.

"We will provide support from other agencies to be placed in hospitals, so that we can prepare the need for support personnel for non-medical activities. For example, preparing food, packing drugs, moving oxygen cylinders in a very fast time and the volume is much larger. more than usual, which has never happened before,” explained Anies.

Oxygen cylinders are also an urgent need for every health facility that primarily treats COVID-19 patients. In fact, oxygen cylinders are a supporting facilitation for the treatment of patients, especially those suffering from moderate to severe symptoms of COVID-19.

Anticipating the oxygen cylinder crisis, Anies mobilized his staff to help distribute oxygen cylinders using existing resources.

"Currently our team is in Tangerang at the oxygen factory to bring in additional oxygen cylinders. One of the main problems is transportation. Therefore, cars from the Parks Service, Highways, Dishub and vehicles from other agencies are mobilized to help transport oxygen cylinders to places procurement, so that the mobility becomes faster,” he concluded.
