Good News, Ministry Of PUPR Finishes 5 Flats For Low-Income Communities In Yogyakarta

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has completed five flats or flats in Yogyakarta for the community.

“This is clear evidence that the Government is present in providing decent housing. We hope that we can improve the quality of life of the beneficiaries by having a more decent, healthy, and comfortable home," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in a written statement received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, June 28.

He said that the construction of flats is not only for low-income people (MBR), students, students in Islamic boarding schools, but also for the TNI/Polri and the State Civil Apparatus (ASN). It is hoped that the provision of decent housing in the form of flats can make a real contribution to the productivity of ASN at work.

The Ministry of PUPR continues to improve the provision of decent housing for the community through the Flats Program (rusun). In FY 2020, 823 flats have been built and will be continued in FY 2021 as many as 9,799 units.

In Yogyakarta Province, the Ministry of PUPR in 2020-2021 has completed the construction of five flats, of which four are flats for educational institutions, namely the PIAT Student Dormitory Flats at Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Ali Maksum Islamic Boarding House Flats, Mualimin Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School Flats, and Yogyakarta State University (UNY) Student Dormitory Flats. Meanwhile, one other flat that was built is the ASN Flat for the Serayu Opak River Area.

The PIAT UGM Student Dormitory Flats were built as many as 1 Tower consisting of 43 units. The physical construction work will start from September 2020 to April 2021 at a cost of the 2020 FY State Budget of Rp14.4 billion. This flat is intended to provide a place to live for students and researchers at PIAT UGM.

Furthermore, there is the Ali Maksum Islamic boarding school flat which was built with a student barrack type of 1 tower consisting of 8 units. The physical construction work will be carried out from September 2020 to March 2021 at a cost of the 2020 FY State Budget of Rp7.95 billion. This flat aims to provide a place to live or shelter for students of Islamic boarding schools to make it easier for them to follow the learning process.

Other flats that were completed in Yogyakarta are the Mualimin Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School Flats with 1 Tower consisting of 86 units. The physical construction work began in September 2020 and was completed in May 2021 at a cost of the 2020 FY State Budget of Rp22.83 billion.

Flats for educational institutions that have also been completed in Yogyakarta are UNY Student Dormitory Flats with 1 Tower consisting of 43 units. The physical construction began in February 2020 and was completed in March 2021 at a cost of the 2020 FY State Budget of Rp15.79 billion.

Finally, the flats that have also been completed are the BBWS Serayu Opak ASN Flats with 1 Tower consisting of 68 units which are intended for ASN who work from outside the region and do not have a place to live. The physical construction work began in September 2020 and was completed in July 2021 at a cost of the 2020 FY State Budget of Rp52.86 billion.
