JAKARTA - The appointment of the Papua governor's daily executive position (plh) aims to ensure that government and public services run smoothly in Papua Province.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Benni Irwan. Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Papua Province Dance Yulian Flassy was appointed as the Acting Governor of Papua.

"The central government and provincial governments share the same passion to ensure that governance and development as well as public services in Papua Province run as well as possible," said Benni Irwan as quoted by Antara, Monday, June 28.

Benni Irwan explained that the appointment of daily executives for regional heads was common. This is done under certain conditions that are justified in accordance with Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government (Pemda).

According to him, the appointment of Yulian Flassy as the Daily Executive (Plh) of the Governor of Papua is a normal thing to happen. Moreover, Papua Governor Lukas Enembe is currently undergoing treatment or recovery, while the deputy governor seat is still vacant, following the death of Klemen Tinal last month.

"The appointment of the regional head is a normal thing, in fact, it also happens in other regions, there are regulations that regulate how the appointment is," said Benni.

However, Benni explained that conditions vary from one region to another, so building communication with every layer of government is one of the keys.

"Conditions from one region to another are of course different, the dynamics that occur in one region to another are not the same, the key is how we build communication, good communication, more directed, measurable communication between every layer of government, The key is there," he said.
