Pajero Driver Who Abused Container Driver Must Be Severely Punished So That Vigilante Action Doesn't Happen Again

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Prince Khairul Saleh asked the police to thoroughly investigate cases of driver abuse and glass damage to container trucks in North Jakarta in a transparent manner.

The police were asked to explain in detail the motive and chronology of the incident so that this case would be clear as well as a deterrent effect for the perpetrators.

"Published to the public, so that similar incidents do not happen again and there is no polemic in the community," Prince told reporters on Monday, June 28.

According to him, the alleged abuse case can be categorized as an act of vigilantism and outside the law. Even entered as a crime.

"Perpetrators who act vigilantly are actually harming other road users and displaying disgraceful actions," he explained.

The prince hopes that if there is an accident or the like, he can contact the nearest police force. Especially in the digital era like today.

"We can contact the nearest apparatus and immediately get treatment. Let's respect and obey the law," he said.

Police have arrested the Mitsubishi Pajero driver who went viral for allegedly molesting a container truck driver. He was arrested after trying to escape to several cities.

"Yes, they have been arrested," said North Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Nasriadi to reporters, Monday, June 28.

The perpetrator, said Nasriadi, was arrested at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. However, before being arrested, the perpetrator had tried to escape to several cities. He fled after finding out it went viral on social media.

"(Arrested) At Soekarno-Hatta airport. So the person concerned fled to East Java yesterday. To be precise, in the direction of Trenggalek, right. From there our team went there to arrest the person concerned, it turned out that he was moving again towards Surabaya. From Surabaya to the airport area Juanda," said Nasriadi.
