Man From Jogja Died In Beach Currents Near La Plancha Seminyak

BADUNG - A man named Nanang Nugroho (32) from Ngesti Harjo Village, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, was killed by the current and drowned on the beach in front of La Plancha, Seminyak, Badung, Bali.

"The victim was swept away by the current and then drowned," said Head of Public Relations of Denpasar Police Iptu I Ketut Sukadi to reporters, Monday, June 28.

The incident occurred this morning when the victim departed from the villa to the beach in front of La Plancha Seminyak. At around 07.58 WITA, the victim swam.

Moments later, the victim was swept away by the coastal current and then drowned. The high waves made the rescue of victims difficult.

"The victim screamed, asking for help but because the waves were quite big. Finally, the victim was not saved and a few moments later the victim was found not breathing," said Iptu Sukadi.
