If Anies' Tenure Ends In 2022, This Observer Predicts That Risma Will Become The Acting Governor Of DKI

JAKARTA - The term of office of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan will end in 2022. Meanwhile, Simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) will be held in 2024.

This means that DKI 1 seat will be vacant for approximately 2 years. So who is the number one person in charge of Jakarta?

Political observer of the Humanitarian Face Circle (LAWAN Institute) Muhammad Mualimin predicts that the candidate for the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta to replace Anies Baswedan is the closest person to President Joko Widodo.

"I think Jokowi and PDIP will fill the vacancy for regional heads whose terms of office expire in 2022-2023," said Mualimin, Friday, June 25.

According to him, there is one name that has considerable potential. He predicts that the Minister of Social Affairs who is also the former Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini will replace him.

"As for the acting replacement for Anies, I predict that Risma will replace Anies," he said.

This, he continued, was a remedy for Risma's disappointment because in 2017, PDIP chose Basuki Tjahaja Purnama over Risma to run for the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election.

“Risma in 2017 had gone back and forth on a political safari to Jakarta, but it was around the corner at the end. PDIP instead supports Ahok-Djarot. Risma was injured in the political constellation in DKI Jakarta," said Mualimin.
