JAKARTA - The Coordinator of Public Relations for the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital Wisma Atlet Minforo Sumego admitted that his party had sent home a number of isolated patients who were still positive.

Mego explained that the average patient isolation period at Wisma Atlet is 10 days. However, there are patients who on the seventh day are in good health.

Even though when they did PCR swabs, they still had positive results, but their CT values were already high and they no longer had symptoms of corona virus infection.

"On average, on the seventh day, they are already healthy, they are good. We check the PCR results, there are indeed positive ones but the CT is very high and there are no symptoms. Finally, we sent the patient home," said Mego in virtual discussion, Friday, June 25.

Mego explained that the repatriation of patients before the isolation period was over was carried out to maintain the occupancy of the beds in the Wisma Atlet.

This is because the surge in COVID-19 cases has resulted in a huge queue of isolated patients. "This is to meet (the need for isolation) of patients whose CT is still low," he said.

However, when the patient was discharged, the Wisma Atlet still asked them to self-isolate for the next 14 days in their respective homes.

"So, the patient is aware of this because we give a good explanation because more and more people are entering the wsima athletes under 20. If the CT is high, we will return it with the approval of the doctor in charge of the patient," he explained.

For information, there has been a reduction in the occupancy rate for COVID-19 patient care beds at the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Hospital today. Currently, its use reaches 85 percent, so there are 15 percent of beds that are not occupied by patients.

Head of Information for Kogabwilhan I, Marine Colonel Aris Mudian, said that as of today there was a reduction of 281 COVID-19 isolation patients at Wisma Atlet.

"Inpatients at the Wisma Atlet Hospital are 6,713 people from 7,894 bed capacities. Initially there were 6,994 people being treated and today there are 281 people," said Aris in his statement.

The details, there are 3,252 women and 3,461 men. They are undergoing isolation in Towers 4, 5, 6, and 7 of the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Emergency Hospital.

So, since the beginning of being used as a place of isolation on March 23, 2020 until now, the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Hospital has treated 100,332 corona virus patients.

"There were 93,619 patients discharged, with details 92,586 patients recovered, 929 were referred to other hospitals, and 104 people died," he said.
