Sentenced To 200 Months In Prison, Father Who Raped Children In Aceh Sent To Prison

BANDA ACEH - The Aceh Besar District Attorney's Office (Kejari) executed the accused rapist of a biological child with the initials MA to the Jantho Aceh Besar Class IIB Detention Center (rutan). The Supreme Court (MA) in its cassation sentenced the defendant to 200 months in prison.

"This is the day of our execution, we got it in the Banda Aceh area, we are still on the way," said Head of General Crimes Section of the Aceh Besar Kejari, Wahyu Ibrahim, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 24.

Wahyu said that during the arrest the defendant was cooperative or did not fight back. Then, before being executed at the Jantho Rutan, the person concerned first underwent a rapid test.

"We will take this to the Kejari first for a rapid test, then we will take it to the Jantho Rutan," he said.

Meanwhile, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) who handled the case, Muhadir, said that after the cassation was carried out, the Supreme Court canceled the acquittal of the defendant by the Jantho Syari'yah Court, and granted the appeal.

"The appeal from the public prosecutor was granted by the Supreme Court, with a prison sentence of 200 months," said Muhadir, who is currently serving in the Bireuen District Attorney's Office.

The defendant, who is the victim's father, was acquitted by the Jantho Syar'iyah Court, Aceh Besar on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.

The Supreme Court defendant was deemed not to have been legally and convincingly proven guilty of raping the victim.

Not accepting the decision, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Aceh Besar then filed an appeal to the Supreme Court in March 2021, or seven days of acquittal of the defendant by the Jantho Syar'iyah Court.

Finally, the appeal of the Aceh Besar prosecutor was granted by the Supreme Court, and the defendant was sentenced to 200 months in prison.
