The Prabowo-Ridwan Kamil Meeting Is Said To Be Able To Try Out The Presidential Election Duet Coalition

JAKARTA - Political observer from Al Azhar University Indonesia Andriadi Achmad, assessed that the meeting of the Minister of Defense who is also the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, and the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil had something to do with politics.

"Moreover, the two figures have been nominated in various national surveys as presidential candidates for 2024," Andriadi told VOI, Tuesday, June 22.

The Executive Director of the Nusantara Institute PolCom SRC explained that Prabowo had won in West Java since the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections. With Prabowo-Hatta Rajasa's 59.78 percent of the votes in the 2014 presidential election, and 59.93 percent of Prabowo-Sandiaga Uno's in the 2019 presidential election.

"Therefore, the meeting of the two figures could lead to the Prabowo-RK coalition in the 2024 presidential election," said Andriadi.

Andriadi said that during the 2018 West Java Pilkada, Ridwan Kamil was carried by NasDem. It could be, he said, an unexpected reality occurred in the midst of the political dynamics ahead of the 2024 presidential election, namely the Gerindra-Nasdem coalition by nominating Prabowo-RK.

Likewise, the PKS-NasDem coalition that will carry Anies Baswedan-Ridwan Kamil.

"Before this, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan visited the Governor of West Java, RK. Apart from a working visit, it is also possible that the two figures have other agendas, namely discussing the coalition in the 2024 presidential election. It is possible to try the Anies-RK coalition with the support of PKS-Nasdem and other political parties," he said.

Likewise, the visit of the Democrat chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono some time ago to West Java met Ridwan Kamil. According to Andriadi, there must be an agenda related to the 2024 presidential election, namely testing the AHY-RK coalition with the Democratic-NasDem coalition and other political parties.

"Therefore, I think that the friendship and political safari between the figures who are predicted to be presidential candidates for 2024 are in the context of trying out the possibility of forming a coalition in the 2024 presidential election," said Andriadi.

Previously, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil met with the Minister of Defense who is also the general chairman of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta, Monday afternoon, June 21.

The contents of the meeting were revealed by Ridawan Kamil Ridwan Kamil through his personal Instagram account, @ridwankamil on the same day.

"Together with the Minister of Defense, Mr. @prabowo Subianto, we discussed various development plans for strengthening human resources in West Java, including the development of the Defense University campus in Sukabumi," Emil wrote as quoted by VOI, Tuesday, June 22.

Kang Emil and Prabowo also discussed the preparation of a training center and defense education in Bogor to be prepared as a COVID-19 Emergency Hospital.

Kang Emil said that Prabowo would also direct Gerindra West Java to support West Java Champion development programs, including in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
