JAKARTA - A number of parties expressed their rejection of the proposed three-term presidential term, starting from Gerindra, PAN, Golkar and PDIP. As the supporting party, the PDIP even considered that the proposal to re-nominate Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would change the 1945 Constitution and it was against the party's attitude.
This rejection after rejection was ignored by the Jokowi-Prabowo (Jokpro) community. Very stupid (ignored), so say the current generation. Jokpro firmly wants this duo to run for the 2024 presidential election.
Jokpro Volunteer Advisor for 2024 Muhammad Qodari admitted that he did not want to worry about the rejection of a number of political parties.
According to him, currently the volunteers want to focus on gathering support from the community to realize the proposed extension of the president's term of office.
Qodari is confident and optimistic that political parties will follow suit if the people want Jokowi to be president again.
"We talk to the people. Later, if the people support, the party will definitely join. Politicians go where the voters are," said Qodari to reporters, Tuesday, June 22.
According to him, it is the people's voice that is very influential in the realization of the proposed 3 presidential terms.
"So, why does Jokpro concentrate on the community, because in a democracy, yes, political parties listen to the people. So we concentrate on the community," he added.
Qodari also referred to the results of the Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) survey, which was released on June 20. Where stated that 66 percent of PDIP voters agreed if Jokowi returned to run in the third period.
Qodari actually reminded PDIP to consider the results of the survey so as not to be abandoned by its voters.
"The opportunity is very big, especially if you look at the SMRC survey, 66 percent of PDIP voters support Jokowi for three periods. PDI must look at the aspirations of its supporters, otherwise the voters will abandon it,” explained Qodari.
However, in the same survey, the public does not agree if President Jokowi returns as a presidential candidate for the third time. The survey results were 52.9 percent. While the number of those who agreed was less, namely 40.2 percent, and 6.9 percent did not answer.
