JAKARTA - A terrorism convict (napiter) at the Cibinong Penitentiary (Lapas) has pledged allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) after going through the deradicalization program.

"The willingness of terrorism convicts to return to the nation and state is a form of crystallization, determination, and enthusiasm which is the implementation of the deradicalization program," said Head of the West Java Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office Sudjonggo, Antara, Monday, June 21.

The pledge of allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia begins with the procession of the oath of pledge of the prisoners, followed by the signing. The activity continued with the reading of Pancasila and ended with the kissing of the Red and White Flag by terrorism convicts.

Sudjonggo appreciates the deradicalization program carried out by the Cibinong Prison so that the terrorism convicts are aware and willing to return to the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Continue to maintain synergy and collaboration with law enforcement officers, starting from the police, Densus 88 Anti-Rorrow, BNPT, BIN, and other stakeholders," he said.

In line with that, Head of Cibinong Prison Usman M said that in the future the implementation of the pledge of loyalty to the Republic of Indonesia by terrorism convicts will continue to be carried out through a deradicalization program.

"The implementation of the pledge of loyalty to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia will continue to be carried out as a result of coaching in prisons that have carried out deradicalization development," he said.

Meanwhile, SJ, a terrorism convict who has pledged allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, admits that he wants to return to society and live a better life.

"I hope the public can accept me back well," said SJ, who has been carrying out the sentence for three months.
