Metro Police Chief Orders Police Officers To Optimize PPKM Operations To Suppress COVID-19 Cases

JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran stated that the apparatus had optimized the operation of implementing micro-scale Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in order to suppress COVID-19 cases in the Jakarta and surrounding areas.

In addition, Fadil also emphasized the optimization of judicial operations and vaccination programs to support measures to anticipate the spread of COVID-19.

Fadil said this after visiting several locations in North Jakarta, Sunday, June 20, to monitor micro PPKM operations, justice and vaccination of residents.

"Earlier, I gave directions to the police chief and his staff on how to optimize and intervene at the community base using micro PPKM," said Fadil, quoted by Antara, Sunday, June 20.

Fadil also directed that officials in the area move quickly to inform when there are positive residents of COVID-19, carry out tracing, judicial operations, and vaccine programs.

The Metro Jaya Police Chief gave an example of one of the routine vaccine activities at the North Jakarta Metro Police as many as 10 locations with a total of about 200 doses per day.

"Hopefully the combination of micro PPKM with judiciary and vaccination can break the chain of spread of COVID-19," said Fadil.

Inspector General Fadil emphasized that the Metro Jaya Police together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the Jaya Regional Military Command were ready to follow and carry out orders for the implementation of PPKM and PSBB to reduce the number of COVID-19 spreads.
