Settlements In Cilandak Quarantined Due To 17 Positive Residents Of COVID-19

JAKARTA - One of the residential areas on Jalan Madrasah, South Gandaria, Cilandak, South Jakarta, has been quarantined (lockdown) due to 17 residents who tested positive for COVID-19.

"The first thing to do is localize access to this village and close it with another village," said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Azis Andriansyah, quoted by Antara, Sunday, June 20.

According to him, there were 17 residents in RT 06/RW 01 Gandaria Selatan who were positive for COVID-19. They are self-isolating in eight houses in the neighborhood.

To meet the basic needs of residents undergoing self-isolation, local residents built public kitchens supported by the TNI, Polri and the South Jakarta City Government.

Meanwhile, for access in and out, a one-door system is applied and is guarded by the Police, TNI and residents.

"The system is guarded by the police, TNI and the community. Here, people will be recorded in and out, it is ensured that they must be healthy and especially those who are self-isolating cannot move outside their homes while waiting to recover," he said

According to Azis, currently 5 people are waiting for the results of the last PCR swab test.

"Local residents still enforce strict health protocols to ensure this village is free from COVID-19," he said.

Azis again reminded residents to always apply health protocols to observe the surge in COVID-19 cases in Jakarta.

Based on data from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the official Twitter account @DKIJakarta, as of Saturday, June 19, there were additional COVID-19 cases reaching 4,895 cases bringing the total accumulation to 468,447 cases.

Meanwhile, active cases that are still being treated/isolated increased by 2,601 cases, bringing the total accumulation to 27,112 cases.
