JAKARTA - The chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Herman Hery, appreciated the performance of the Attorney General's Office under the leadership of Attorney General ST Burhanuddin who succeeded in arresting fugitives convicted of illegal logging cases Adelin Lis. "I appreciate the Attorney General's Office, especially the Attorney General, for his performance and determination to raise the authority of the Prosecutor's Office without compromising with anyone regarding law enforcement," said Herman Hery to Antara in Jakarta, Sunday, June 20.

He emphasized that the steps and performance of the Attorney General was a warning to all parties, including the fugitives, to surrender.

According to him, this is because the Attorney General will not stop chasing the fugitives until they are caught.

The PDI-P politician said Commission III of the DPR will consistently oversee the Prosecutor's Office in carrying out its duties in accordance with the mandate of the law. "We also ask the government to pay attention to the need for investigation and investigation fees from the Attorney General's Office throughout Indonesia so that their duties can be maximized," he said.

Previously, Attorney General Burhanuddin said the repatriation of the convict in the illegal logging case, Adelin Lis, was realized thanks to the cooperation or synergy between the Indonesian Government and the Singaporean Government.

"The execution of the repatriation of convicts is thanks to the support from the Singaporean Government authorities and in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore," said Burhanuddin at a press conference for the repatriation of convict Adelin Lis at the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta, Saturday (19/6) night

As is known, fugitive Adelin Lis was arrested in Singapore on March 4, 2021 for falsifying passports in the name of Hendro Leonardi.

The Singapore court sentenced Adelin Lis to a fine of 14,000 Singapore dollars or around Rp. 140 million and deported from Singapore.
