JAKARTA - The fugitive from illegal logging cases, Adelin Lis has been officially brought back to Indonesia. He was immediately taken to the detention center of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung).

VOI monitoring from the AGO's official live instagram, Adelin Lis arrived at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang. Wearing a prison vest he was handcuffed and escorted by officers.

"The execution of (the agency) begins today," said the Head of the AGO's Legal Information Center Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak at the Attorney General's Office Building, Saturday, June 19.

To prevent COVID-19, Adelin Lis will first be quarantined at the Salemba Detention Center, Jakarta branch of the AGO. This is to make sure he is negative for COVID-19.

"Furthermore, the convicts will be subjected to a 14-day health quarantine. We will place them in the Salemba detention center at the AGO branch to be executed in prison," said Leonard.

By reason of the implementation of the health protocol, the execution of fines and criminal penalties cannot be carried out. The execution will be carried out after the quarantine period is complete.

For information, Adelin underwent execution based on the decision of the Supreme Court (MA) in 2008 on the appeal filed by the public prosecutor.

The Supreme Court judges sentenced him to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 1 billion. In addition, he was also sentenced to pay compensation of Rp. 119.8 billion and reforestation funds of US$ 2.938 million.
