Unlike The Police, The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Prohibits Local Homecoming

JAKARTA - Residents living in DKI Jakarta are still prohibited from going home on Idul Fitri 1441 H, even though they are local. For example to Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Bodetabek). Because, this has been regulated in transportation control.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo said, the ban on going home is regulated in the Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 25 of 2020 concerning Transportation Control during the Idul Fitri Homecoming Period 1441 H and Governor Regulation Number 33 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in Handling COVID- 19 in DKI Jakarta Province.

"There are rules, obviously not allowed. In the Jabodetabek area, during the PSBB period, only activities that are allowed to move are exempted. When going home, automatically is not allowed," said Syafrin when contacted, Friday, April 15.

Based on Article 18 of the Governor Regulation 33/2020, all activities for the movement of people and / or goods are temporarily suspended, except for the fulfillment of basic needs and activities that are allowed during the implementation of the PSBB.

Thus, going home is still prohibited. Because, said Syafrin, if going home is allowed even though the distance is close, it still has the potential to spread the spread of COVID-19.

"From the Jabodetabek area, of course there are zones that are still green. For example, thousand islands. If there is a local homecoming, it could be our relatives on the island. This is the case for several areas in Jabodetabek. This is what we avoid," said Syafrin.

Furthermore, Syafrin stated that his party would coordinate with the Transportation Agency for the Capital City buffer area to prohibit people from returning to Bodetabek until a few days after Eid. If on the way there are residents who are caught going home, they will be told to turn back to their respective homes.

"We turn it around. Now that Pergub 41 has been issued regarding enforcement of sanctions there. So, we will impose sanctions in accordance with Pergub 41," he said.

For information, the government has prohibited all levels of society from going home as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, the ban only applies to destinations outside Jabodetabek.

Meanwhile, for areas supporting the capital, the prohibition does not apply. The people of Jakarta are allowed to go home for Lebaran to Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Bodetabek), or vice versa.

This is in line with the statement made by the Head of the National Police Corps Ops, Kombes Benyamin. He said that people who want to go home to local homecoming must obey all existing rules, namely, prioritizing large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).

Limiting the number of passengers in one vehicle to the use of masks is a rule that must be obeyed. That way, efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 will continue.

"Yes (going home to Jabodetabek, red), there is no problem with that," said Benyamin.

However, regarding the sanctions for those who violate, Benyamin cannot say much. This is because this has entered into the realm of the relevant regional governments which have their respective types of sanctions.

"Yes, in such a PSBB environment, the issue of sanctions will be left to the respective regional governments," concluded Benyamin.
