Kompol Rosa Returns To Work At The KPK After Being Returned To The Bhayangkara Corps

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has re-employed its investigator, Kompol Rosa Purbo Bekti, who was previously returned to the Police. This decision was taken after the five KPK leaders held a meeting on Saturday, May 6.

Through this meeting, the KPK leadership decided to review and cancel the decision to dismiss Kompol Rosa as investigator.

"The KPK has decided to revisit and cancel and declare that the Decree of the Secretary General of the Corruption Eradication Commission Number 123 of 2020 regarding the Respectful Dismissal of Civil Servants Hired at the KPK on behalf of Rossa Purbo Bekti as of February 1, 2020," said the Acting KPK spokesman for prosecution of Ali Fikri to journalists through his written statement, Thursday, May 14.

Furthermore, the KPK has issued the Decree of the Secretary General of the Corruption Eradication Commission Number 744.1 of 2020 concerning the Cancellation of the Decree of the Secretary General of the Corruption Eradication Commission Number 123 of 2020 concerning the Respectful Dismissal of Civil Servants Hired at the KPK, dated May 6, 2020.

The issuance of this letter, said Ali, was due to paying attention to the Chief of Police's Letter dated March 3, 2020 regarding the Response to the Return of the Assignment of Police Members within the KPK to re-hire Civil Servants employed on behalf of Rosa Purbo Bekti until September 23, 2020.

Upon the letter, the KPK leadership then collectively collegially decided to approve it.

"Thus, at this time Rossa Purbo Bekti's personnel rights have returned as before the issuance of the Decree of the Secretary General of the Corruption Eradication Commission Number 123 of 2020," said Ali.

Compol Rossa polemic

When the KPK decided to send Kompol Rossa back to the Bhayangkara Corps, this actually created a new polemic in the midst of an arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.

Apart from failing to catch Harun Masiku, the bribe-taker, suddenly the KPK actually sent Kompol Rossa back to its original institution.

In fact, Kompol Rossa's tenure at this anti-graft agency only ended in September 2020 and could continue to be extended.

The KPK leadership at that time argued that Kompol Rossa had returned to the police institution because of a request. However, recently the police stated that the request had been canceled and the Deputy Chief of Police, Commissioner General Gatot Eddy Pramono, had sent two cancellation letters to the KPK.

Instead of canceling, the KPK leadership at that time continued to return Kompol Rossa to the Bhayangkara Corps. Rossa who objected at that time sent a letter to President Joko Widodo.
