Karhutla, the Government Opens Options for Schools Affected by the Flood

Jakarta - The government has opened the option of a holiday for students of schools affected by forest and land fires (karhutla).

However, this policy is situational and adjusted to the conditions of each region. This was conveyed by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 12.

Prasetyo also conveyed that the central government guaranteed administrative and logistical support for handling karhutla.

So far, according to Prasetyo, the TNI, Polri, volunteers, and the community have been involved in the karhutla fire. Prasetyo also appealed to the public to prevent new fire points from appearing.
