BOGOR - The Bogor City Government (Pemkot) has begun to realize the plan to relocate the Bogor Mayor's Office to an integrated government area in Katulampa Village, East Bogor District. The construction of access roads to the area is one of the initial stages to realize the new Bogor City government center.

The construction of the Bogor City Integrated Government Office road access began on Tuesday, August 11. The infrastructure is being prepared to support a more representative government office area while opening new connectivity in the eastern part of Bogor City.

Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim said the construction of the integrated government area was carried out gradually as part of efforts to realize a more modern government office and be able to provide better services to the community.

"Of course we must be consistent in implementing it with various challenges. Insyaallah, gradually, but it will also be realized someday a representative government office for Bogor City and prosperous citizens," said Dedie.

According to Dedie, the construction of the road access is an important part of preparing the area which will later be used as the center of government activities in Bogor City. The presence of the new government center is also expected to open the Katulampa area, which has not been optimally connected to the city's main road network.

The access road is connected to the exit of the South Bogor Jagorawi Toll Road and will connect the North Bogor, East Bogor, and South Bogor areas.

"This effort will also have an impact on building a more advanced, modern human being with all the facilities that are built for convenience, and of course it will soon improve the welfare of the community," said Dedie.

The access road to the government office area has a length of 1,418 meters with a width of 6 to 12 meters and is targeted to be completed within 120 days. The road will be equipped with drainage, pedestrian, kanstin, lighting, and greenery.

In addition to the government office, the area is also planned to be equipped with a number of public facilities, such as sports courts, multipurpose rooms, and places of worship. These facilities are prepared to support the government area while providing benefits for the community.

Head of the Bogor City PUPR Office, Juniarti Estiningsih, said the construction of the road access was part of the preparation of the new government area, which is expected to become one of the new growth centers in the eastern part of Bogor City.

"So the first is to reduce congestion around the city center. The second, speeding up citizen mobility and logistics between regions. The third, encouraging investment and new economic growth along these corridors and regions," he said.

According to Juniarti, the relocation of government offices to a new area requires adequate infrastructure support. Good access roads will be an important factor so that the community can still easily reach the center of government services after the mayor's office and local government units gradually move to the area.

At the laying of the first stone of the construction of the access, the Bogor City Government also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) of partnership with PT Kharisma Tangguh Persada (KTP) for the arrangement of the geometric intersection of the access to the Parung Banteng Road to the on ramp access to the Jagorawi Toll Road and its surroundings.

Juniarti said that this arrangement would strengthen connectivity to the new government area.

"The main gate through the developer's land assets and in the middle of the intersection will be made a road island formed by a park. Second, the construction of a geometric intersection in the form of a park roundabout to arrange the traffic in and out of the Jagorawi Toll Road which is now operational, for the sake of smoothness and safety of traffic," he said.

Director of PT KTP Cornelius Widjaja said the cooperation with the Bogor City Government was a form of collaboration between the government and the business world to support the development of infrastructure that supports the new area.

According to him, the construction of access to the government office area has strategic value because it can facilitate community mobility while increasing access to public services.

"People who come to take care of various public service needs will get more comfortable, more efficient, and easier access. When access is better, then public services will be more optimal," he said.

The Bogor City Government hopes that the construction of the road access will be the foundation for the realization of the relocation of the Bogor Mayor's Office and the center of government activities to the Katulampa area. The gradual relocation is expected to reduce the density of government activities in the city center while encouraging the equitable development of the eastern region.

With the support of road networks, public facilities, and connectivity to the Jagorawi Toll Road, the integrated government area in Katulampa is projected to become the new government center of Bogor City which is more representative, integrated, and easily accessible by the public.
