JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Djamari Chaniago has confirmed that the video about the demonstration action circulating on social media and narrated as happening now is a hoax.

According to Djamari, the video was deliberately uploaded to mislead the public about false information.

"I declare that the video is not true. There is no such thing in Indonesia, in our homeland. Maybe it happened in the past. In the future, there is none," said Djamari as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 5.

Djamari also regretted that the narrative from the video seemed to entice the public to hold anarchist demonstration on the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in August.

In fact, he continued, the situation in the capital and several regions of Indonesia until now is under control.

He said the activity of shopping centers in several places was also monitored normally, symbolizing that the situation was still well maintained.

"The situation in the country is very, very stable and the development of the situation in the country is still under our control," he explained.

Djamari also asked the public not to be easily influenced by the hoax information and to continue to entrust security to the government.

He also asked the public not to be tempted to spread various information that has not been confirmed to be true.

It is known that there are circulating on social media related to the video of the demonstration that occurred in Jakarta. However, the action in the video is a year ago.
