The statement was made following the steps of the joint team of the National Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) and the Metro Jaya Police's Criminal Investigation Unit (Ditreskrimsus) which searched 12 locations related to the investigation of three corruption cases, namely coal governance, the development of the Asabri and Jiwasraya 2020-2025 corruption cases, and money laundering (TPPU) in the settlement of PT CBS's debt obligations to PT KNI.
According to Gus Lilur, the ongoing legal process should not be perceived as a conflict between two law enforcement agencies, but should be seen as an effort to take action against individuals suspected of being involved.
