JAKARTA - The police stopped the BTS Meal promo activity which was held at a McDonald's fast food restaurant in Medan.

This was done because the activity, which started on Wednesday, June 9, invited a crowd of people. North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Panca Putra said his party had also conveyed to every McDonald's outlet management in Medan to temporarily stop these activities.

"Regarding McD, we have told the manager to temporarily stop its activities, because it invites crowds, and it has also been conveyed from the center," said Inspector General Panca while at the Gubsu official residence, quoted from a written statement by the National Police Public Relations, Thursday, June 10. .

North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Panca reiterated and hoped that the management of the fast food restaurant outlet would cooperate to comply with this appeal. This is because this is done to anticipate the spread of COVID 19 in North Sumatra.

"I ask the management of McD to work together, how to prevent this Covid pandemic from developing in North Sumatra," he concluded. Previously, it was reported that a crowd dominated by hundreds of online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) occurred at a number of McDonald's outlets in Medan City, Wednesday, June 9.

The crowd occurred after McDonald's collaborated with South Korean boyband BTS, releasing a new menu, namely 'BTS Meal' which was released on June 9.

Meanwhile in Jakarta, the police asked for information from the management of McDonald's following the emergence of a special BTS Meal menu that caused a crowd. The inspection was carried out shortly after the crowds at several outlets were resolved.

"We have been invited to clarify the management," said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Thursday, June 10.

The examination of McDonald's management, continued Yusri, was carried out by the Sector Police and the Resort Police. However, the results of the inspection were not disclosed.
