Jakarta Anniversary Gift, DKI Provincial Government Will Officially Open JIS-Ancol Bridge to JPO Cincin Donat Dukuh Atas

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will inaugurate a number of infrastructure projects to free transportation services as a gift for residents in the 499th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the DKI Provincial Government would hold a haul for Betawi ulama and habaib on the evening of June 19. The activity is claimed to be the first to be held by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

Pramono assessed that the contribution of Betawi religious, social, and community figures needs to be honored because they have a role in the development of Jakarta until today.

"Taggal 19 nights, before naming the street, in the context of the anniversary, we will also hold a haul for Betawi ulama and habaib, which has never happened before. This is the first time, the organizer is the DKI Jakarta Government," said Pramono in South Jakarta, Thursday, June 18.

According to Pramono, the holding of the haul is also in line with the Betawi cultural identity which is now the face of Jakarta as regulated in the Jakarta Special District Law.

Then on Sunday, June 21, one of the agendas that will be carried out ahead of the peak of the Jakarta Anniversary celebration is the inauguration of the implementation of a motor-free day (HBKB) or car-free day on Rasuna Said Street.

"In the context of the 499th anniversary of Jakarta, we will inaugurate the first one tomorrow, namely Rasuna Said and officially there will also be a car free day activity," said Pramono.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government will also start construction of the Dukuh Atas pedestrian deck, which has been known to the public as the donut ring bridge project. This facility is designed to strengthen the connectivity of the integrated transit area in the center of Jakarta.

"On the same day we will also lay the first stone (groundbreaking) for the Dukuh Atas pedestrian deck on the 21st," said Pramono.

Still within the scope of the Jakarta Anniversary celebrations, the DKI Provincial Government has scheduled the inauguration of the bridge connecting the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) with the Ancol area on June 22. The government also targets the operation of the KRL station in front of the stadium.

"On the 22nd, we will inaugurate the Ancol connecting bridge with JIS and also the KRL station in front of JIS. If that can be done, that is the gift for Jakarta," he said.

Not only physical projects, the DKI Provincial Government also provides free public transportation services on June 22, 27, and 28. This policy applies to all modes of transportation managed by the local government.

"On the 22nd, 27th, and 28th, all transportation managed or handled by the DKI Jakarta Government, ranging from LRT, MRT, TransJakarta, to JakLingko, on that date, everything is free," explained Pramono.

On the same date, Jakarta residents with KTP can also enjoy free access to a number of tourist destinations managed by the local government, ranging from the Ragunan Wildlife Park, Ancol, museums to the National Monument (Monas).

"And on that date, if you want to enter Ancol, Ragunan, museums, Monas, and so on, it's free. That's the gift given by the DKI Jakarta Government to residents. The condition is one, having a Jakarta ID card," he added.
