The National Police Requests an Additional Budget of Rp. 66.1 Trillion

JAKARTA - The National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Polri) has proposed an additional budget of Rp. 66.1 trillion from the indicative limit of the National Police in 2027 which has been determined by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Development Planning of Rp. 118 trillion.

Deputy National Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Dedi Prasetyo said that budget support was one of the important factors in meeting the allocation of organizational needs and resources to optimize the implementation of planning and the objectives of the National Police.

"The indicative budget of the National Police for the 2027 fiscal year is still below the ideal needs of the proposed budget of the National Police," said Dedi during a meeting with Commission III of the DPR, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 17.

He also explained that in February 2026, the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, had sent a letter to the government regarding the Polri budget needs for 2027 of Rp. 178.6 trillion.

However, after rationalization with the calculation of the increase in fuel prices and the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar, the ideal budget needs of the 2027 National Police rose to Rp. 184.1 trillion. Therefore, he said, there was still a shortfall of Rp. 66.1 trillion, based on the 2027 indicative ceiling.

He explained that the proposed addition to the budget was an ongoing effort to accelerate the National Police towards an increasingly professional institution that requires us to have sensitivity to strategic dynamics.

According to him, a number of considerations for the addition of the budget include referring to the development of the global, regional, national strategic environment, including information and cyber technology, to increasing Harkamtibmas activities and law enforcement in support of the Astacita program.

In the proposed additional budget of Rp. 66.1 trillion, according to him, the largest allocation is for capital expenditure of Rp. 40.6 trillion. Capital expenditure will be carried out, among others, to meet the needs of public service electric vehicles, to meet the needs of Brimob special vehicles.

Then the construction of the Polda, Polres, Polsek, Pospol Mako in the border area, the construction of the official residence of Polri members, and the fulfillment of special Polri equipment for the preparation of the 2029 Election security.

"Hopefully, the results of this working meeting can consider adjustments and additions to the budget based on the proposed budget needs," he said.
