TANJUNG SELOR - North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Deputy Governor (Wagub), Ingkong Ala encourages companies operating in the Kaltara region to strengthen their contributions in supporting regional development through the corporate social responsibility or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

"We have held a meeting to follow up on the previous meeting held by the Governor of North Maluku with the North Maluku DPRD, district/city governments, and a number of companies from the plantation, forestry, and mining sectors," said Ingkong Ala, Monday, June 15.

Ingkong reminded the importance of accelerating the realization of various commitments that have been agreed between the regional government and business actors, supporting more equitable development in the Kaltara region.

"I want us to equalize perceptions and follow up on what has been agreed upon during the meeting with major investors in Jakarta. This cooperation and collaboration are important to build Kaltara," said Ingkong.

He revealed that currently the regional fiscal condition faces various challenges due to economic uncertainty, so it requires the government to strengthen collaboration with the business world.

"Support through the CSR program is one solution in meeting the needs of community development and basic services," he said.

For this reason, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of North Maluku asked all regional apparatus organizations (OPD) to immediately formulate priority programs that are integrated with the vision and mission of regional development.

"The next OPD program is offered to companies so that it can be supported through the CSR scheme," he explained.

Ingkong said that the focus of the prepared program includes the infrastructure, health, and education sectors which are considered to have a direct impact on improving the quality of life of the community.

"We ask all regional devices to create programs that are integrated with the governor's vision and mission priorities. Later we will offer it to mining, plantation, and forestry companies," he said.

In addition, the deputy governor also highlighted efforts to regulate taxes and levies in the industrial sector. One of the main concerns is to ensure the legality and compliance of companies in reporting heavy equipment operating in the Kaltara area.

Ingkong asked the relevant OPD to immediately conduct a data collection of development needs in five regencies/cities and at the same time verify the data on heavy equipment owned by companies to ensure that all regional tax obligations are met in accordance with regulations.

"Later we will go down together to check the data of the company's heavy equipment, whether it has been registered and meets its tax obligations," he said.

As a follow-up, the deputy governor is scheduled to lead a working visit to Bulungan Regency, Malinau, Nunukan, Tana Tidung, and Tarakan City to strengthen coordination with local governments and business actors in the field.
