JAKARTA - A CIA report published as part of the third release of the Pentagon's Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Files contains information about a possible UFO flight between Moscow and Budapest that may have occurred in 1955.
The information is a finding of RIA Novosti after studying the document.
An American citizen of Hungarian descent told the CIA in November 1955 that he had received a letter from his nephew in Budapest.
The letter from his nephew mentioned the "flying saucer" that had been causing tension among locals for weeks.
"The so-called flying saucer (rocket) for several weeks has made people nervous. These very fast flying objects have kept scientific groups very busy," the letter read, as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, June 12.
"I'm sure you've heard from the newspapers, the speed of these flying objects is estimated to reach 12,000 kilometers per hour," continued the letter.
An image was attached to the letter, showing the planned formation and path of the strange objects, which are suspected of moving between Budapest and Moscow.
However, the exact direction of movement of the object is not shown in the picture.
"This is the first time my nephew has mentioned such objects in his letters," the person said as quoted in the document.
Previously on May 8, the US Department of War began to publish UFO files that had previously been promised by President Donald Trump to be released.
The second wave was released on May 22. The department said new UFO-related documents would be published every few weeks.
