National Weather Forecast 11 June, BMKG asks residents to be aware of heavy rain

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts the formation of an area of wind speed deceleration or convergence capable of increasing the potential for the growth of heavy to very heavy rain clouds, Thursday, June 11.

BMKG Praktirawan Nazmi Nariyah quoted Antara, Thursday morning reported that people in most major cities must increase their preparedness, including the North Sumatra, West Sulawesi, North Maluku, and Maluku regions.

This is because the atmospheric conditions due to this convergence and confluence area are considered capable of increasing the potential for rain cloud growth along the area.

Nazmi explained that the observed convergence area stretches from West Sumatra, Jambi, South Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, to the land of Papua. Meanwhile, the wind meeting area or confluence is expected to be formed in the Andaman Sea, the Malacca Strait, the South China Sea, the Sulu Sea, to the north Pacific Ocean of Papua.

For weather forecasts in major cities in the western region of Indonesia, BMKG projects that rain accompanied by lightning or lightning will hit the cities of Tanjung Pinang, Pontianak, and Banjarmasin.

Meanwhile, for the cities of Medan, Pangkal Pinang, Palangka Raya, Samarinda, and Tanjung Selor, it is estimated that they will experience light rain, while the DKI Jakarta, Banda Aceh, Serang, Bandung, and Surabaya regions have the potential to be thick clouds.

Turning to the eastern part of Indonesia, heavy intensity rain is expected to hit Mamuju City, lightning in Ternate, moderate rain in Ambon, and light rain in dozens of other major cities including Denpasar, Makassar, and Jayapura.
