MBG Corruption Allegation Actually Investigated by the KPK Before the Attorney General's Office Appointed Dadan Hindayana et al. Suspects

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has apparently investigated alleged corruption in the Free Nutritious Meal Program by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) before the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) named a suspect.

Meanwhile, the Attorney General's Office has currently named three suspects in this case. They are the former Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana and the former Deputy BGN, namely Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya.

"Yes, we have indeed been investigating," said Acting Director of KPK Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein to reporters at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday evening, June 8.

Meanwhile, regarding the follow-up to this investigation, Taufik did not say much. He only said that because the Attorney General's Office had first named a suspect, the KPK was now just waiting.

"So we will see the synergy for the investigation processes," he said.

The KPK, he continued, will also carry out a trial or expose. This step is also to ensure follow-up on the findings that have been obtained during the investigation.

"We will wait for the title of the case, how the leadership decides," said Taufik.

Meanwhile, based on the information obtained, the investigation into the alleged corruption at BGN was actually carried out by the KPK since the beginning of this year. However, the process is indeed closed like other cases.

The Attorney General's Office has named Dadan Hindayana along with Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya as suspects. Investigators suspect that there was a practice of buying and selling the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in the implementation of the MBG program, resulting in state losses.

The three were then charged with Article 603 in conjunction with Article 20 letter a or c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 18 of the Law on Eradication of Corruption Crimes. The Attorney General's Office is also still investigating the flow of funds and the parties suspected of being involved in the case.
