Jambret Gang Seizes iPhone 17 Pro Max Belonging to a Woman while Jogging in Kelapa Gading

JAKARTA - A gang of robbers was back in action in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta, on Monday (8/6/2026).

This time, the perpetrator managed to steal one unit of an iPhone 17 Pro Max belonging to a woman with the initials LL (45) while the victim was jogging.

The incident occurred on Jalan Raya Arteri Gading Pelangi, Pegangsaan Dua Village, Kelapa Gading District, North Jakarta.

According to the victim's statement, the pickpocketing incident occurred while he was exercising. At that time, the perpetrator suddenly snatched the cell phone that was being held by the victim.

Even though he had shouted for help by shouting "jambret-jambret", no residents managed to stop the perpetrator. The victim then reported the incident to the Kelapa Gading Police for follow-up.

Kelapa Gading Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Kiki Tanlim said his party had carried out an investigation at the crime scene (TKP) and examined a number of CCTV recordings after receiving the victim's report.

"It has been handled. We have checked the crime scene, checked the CCTV around the location, and asked for the testimony of a number of witnesses," said AKP Kiki when confirmed.

Kiki explained that the incident occurred at around 07.02 WIB. Previously, the victim had been jogging around his house and had taken a break at a minimarket on Jalan Arteri Gading Pelangi.

After leaving the minimarket, the victim continued his activities while holding the phone and looking at the screen of the device.

Not long after, two perpetrators riding a motorcycle came from the opposite direction and immediately snatched the victim's cellphone. After successfully taking the phone, the perpetrator fled towards Pulogadung.

"The perpetrators are two unknown men wearing hoodies and using a matic motorcycle. Currently, we are still investigating," he said.

The police are currently still pursuing the perpetrators. The identity of the perpetrators is said to have been bagged and is being hunted down by the operational team of the Kelapa Gading Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
