JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD held a plenary meeting to pronounce Suhud Alynudin's oath of office as the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD for the remaining term of office 2024-2029. The oath was pronounced after the issuance of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Decree regarding the dismissal and inauguration of the appointment of the leadership of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

The plenary meeting was opened by the meeting leader with the main agenda of the oath/pledge of Suhud Alynudin from the PKS Faction as the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD replacing Khoirudin.

The appointment of Suhud as the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD is based on the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 100.2.1.4-937 of 2026 concerning the inauguration of the appointment of the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

The Chairman of the DKI Jakarta High Court, Nugroho Setiadji, then led the oath/promise of office before continuing with the signing of the minutes.

After the plenary meeting, Suhud revealed that the main agenda to be pushed in the early days of his leadership in the DKI DPRD was the improvement of the regional economy through the formation of regulations that could open up alternative financing for Jakarta.

"The most basic thing I will do is encourage economic growth through existing regional regulations. There are several regulations that are needed to encourage creative financing," said Suhud at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Monday, June 8.

Suhud then highlighted the condition of the DKI APBD which still has a deficit as the main challenge that must be faced by the local government and DPRD in the next few years.

Therefore, Suhud admitted that he would prioritize efforts to find new sources of income for Jakarta through regulations to strengthen the role of local business entities (BUMD).

"We know that the DKI APBD is currently in deficit, yes. So, breakthroughs are needed, creative financing that allows Jakarta not to be disturbed by the existing economic conditions," said Suhud.

According to him, there are still many regional revenue potentials that have not been optimized. Therefore, the DPRD will encourage the birth of policies and regulations that can strengthen regional revenue sources.

"There are several regulations and also policies of the Governor that we must encourage, so that Jakarta can get sources of income from what, from what already exists, yes. Because there are many opportunities today that have not been optimized," said Suhud.

On the other hand, Suhud emphasized that he would continue various programs and achievements that had been built during Khoirudin's leadership, especially in the field of legislation.

He said the DKI DPRD had produced 20 regional regulations during the current period which became the foundation for the development of Jakarta. In the future, the DPRD will strengthen cooperation with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to respond to economic challenges and improve human resources.

"Together with the Governor, we will encourage Jakarta to become better, especially in the most basic things, especially in terms of economic welfare, and also the improvement of human resources quality," he concluded.
