Make sure the Transjabodetabek Tariff for Blok M-Soetta will increase, Pramono: Damri and others are already above Rp100 Thousand

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed that the Blok M-Airport Transjabodetabek route will increase. The reason is that the tariff of Rp. 3,500 is considered too cheap compared to other transportation costs to the airport, which on average have penetrated Rp. 100 thousand.

According to him, the tariff of Rp3,500 for travel to Soekarno-Hatta Airport is very irrelevant when compared to other modes of transportation.

"When I announced Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta, I said it was impossible for Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta to be Rp3,500 because it was going up Damri, going up the other one was already above Rp100,000 on average," said Pramono at Karet Kuningan, South Jakarta, Monday, June 8.

Pramono said the tariff adjustment would be carried out in the near future. The decision on the amount of the new tariff is currently in the finalization stage. The DKI Provincial Government, he said, is calculating the tariff figures to be applied. The amount will be announced after the discussion process is completed.

"So, there will be adjustments, the numbers will be decided soon," said Pramono.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government planned to adjust the tariff of a number of Transjabodetabek services in the near future. The tariff increase does not only apply to the Blok M-Soekarno Hatta Airport route, but also several other corridors that are considered to have too large a subsidy burden.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that his party is currently also studying a number of other Transjabodetabek services that are considered to require adjustments to the tariff so that the government's subsidy burden does not swell.

"In these months we will decide on several routes, not only Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta, but also other Trans Jabodetabek that need adjustments because the subsidy is too large," he said.

Based on data from the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government must allocate a budget of Rp. 401 billion for the Transjabodetabek subsidy on 18 service routes. Where, each passenger receives a subsidy of Rp. 12,258.
