Monday, June 8 Prabowo Appoints Head of BGN Nanik, Said Iqbal to Follow to the Palace?

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to lead a number of important state agendas at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, June 8, ranging from the inauguration of state officials to the acceptance of letters of credence from ambassadors of friendly countries.

The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi said the President would appoint a number of domestic officials before continuing the diplomatic agenda with representatives of friendly countries.

One of the main agendas is the inauguration of Nanik S. Deyang as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). Nanik will replace the previous leadership and lead an institution that has a strategic role in supporting various priority government programs in the field of health and community nutrition.

The inauguration is considered important to strengthen the institutionalization of BGN in the midst of the implementation of various national programs related to improving the quality of human resources and nutritional resilience.

In addition, the President of the Indonesian Workers' Confederation (KSPI) and Labor Party figure, Said Iqbal, will also be inaugurated as the Presidential Advisor for Employment.

The news was confirmed by the President of the Confederation of All Indonesian Workers' Unions (KSPSI), Andi Gani, who expressed his support for the appointment of Said Iqbal into the presidential structure.

"This is a strategic synergy. Labor leaders who enter the government will not abandon their roots of struggle, on the contrary - they will become a bridge between labor interests and state policies," said Andi Gani, Sunday, June 7.

Previously, the Minister of Manpower, Social Security, and Transmigration, Prasetyo Hadi, revealed that Said Iqbal's placement in the presidential environment was still in the finalization stage. According to him, Said's track record in fighting for labor issues is one of the main considerations of the government.

"We are discussing it. This is closely related to his achievements in the field of employment," said Prasetyo.

Said Iqbal's presence in the government structure is considered to have strategic value in the midst of the government's efforts to accelerate the completion of various labor reform agendas, including strengthening the social security system and implementing labor protection policies.

In addition to the inauguration of state officials, President Prabowo is also scheduled to receive letters of credence from a number of ambassadors of friendly countries who will serve in Indonesia.

Even though it took place on the same day, Prasetyo emphasized that the inauguration of state officials and the reception of ambassadors would be carried out in a different forum in accordance with the provisions of the applicable protocols and legal mechanisms.

"For the inauguration forum, it is certainly different between the inauguration of state officials and the ambassadors of friendly countries," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace Complex last week.

According to him, the merger of a number of agendas in one day is carried out to increase the effectiveness of the implementation of state activities as well as optimizing the President's time in carrying out government and diplomatic duties.

Until now, the government has not detailed the complete list of ambassadors who will submit a letter of confidence to the President. However, the Palace ensured that all technical preparations had been matured so that the series of state agendas could run smoothly and diligently.
