JAKARTA - Minister of Immigration and Correction Agus Andrianto asked all his ranks to be accommodating and supportive of legal processes involving officials in the Immigration Directorate General.

Agus stated that his staff respected and fully supported the legal process carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and committed to being cooperative.

"The legal process that is underway must be supported by us and I ask all parties to be accommodating to support the process," said Agus in his statement as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 4.

He said his agency also opened access to data, documents, and information needed by investigators to accelerate the disclosure of the case in a clear and thorough manner.

"What is happening now is also an opportunity for us to improve and strengthen the governance of immigration so that it is cleaner, more transparent, and accountable," he said.

The Ministry of Imipas has also deactivated officials who are entangled in legal cases at the KPK from their positions as a step to enforce internal discipline.

According to Agus, this step was taken to ensure that the legal process could run without obstacles, while maintaining the smooth functioning of public services.

"We also ensure that immigration services to the public continue to run normally in all service units and are not affected by the ongoing legal process," said Agus.

He added that matters concerning the substance of the case and the legal status of the parties concerned are entirely the authority of the KPK.

Agus Andrianto also appealed to all parties to respect the ongoing legal process.

Previously, on June 3, 2026, the KPK initially confirmed that it had carried out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in the environment of the West Jakarta Special Class I Immigration Office. The OTT is known to be the 11th during 2026.

In addition, the OTT is related to the alleged management of residence permits for foreign nationals, namely the Permanent Residence Permit (KITAP) and the Limited Residence Permit (KITAS).

In the operation carried out during 2-3 June 2026, the KPK arrested 17 people consisting of eight state organizers or state civil servants, as well as nine private parties who played a role as intermediaries in handling immigration documents.

Some of the 17 people are the Head of the West Jakarta Special Class I Immigration Office, Ronald Arman Abdullah, the Head of the West Java Immigration Directorate General Office, Jaya Saputra, who had served as the Director of Residence Permits and Immigration Status for the period November 2024-October 2025, to the Acting Director General of Immigration for the period October 2024-April 2025, Saffar Muhammad Godam.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections Silmy Karim surrendered by visiting the KPK on Wednesday evening, June 3, 2026.
