If There Are Police Officers Who Do 'Strange' Things on the Road, Don't Be Shy to Record Them and Report Them

JAKARTA - The police ask the public to record if they find officers suspected of committing violations during the manual fine operation of the 2026 Patuh Jaya operation. Emphasize that the operation is free from illegal collection practices (pungli).

Director of Traffic of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Komarudin emphasized that there was no tolerance for his members who played around in the implementation of manual fines.

"People don't need to worry. Now is the era of digitization. If there is a deviant behavior of officers, please record, video, write down his name and send it to us," he told the media, Thursday, June 4, 2026.

According to Komarudin, every report accompanied by evidence will be immediately followed up. So, members who are proven to have committed violations or irregularities will be subject to strict sanctions.

"At that time we will also take firm action. There is no tolerance for anyone who violates the law or deviates from law enforcement on the road," he said.

Manual fines are again being implemented in the Patuh Jaya Operation which takes place from June 8 to 21, 2026. The action is taken for traffic violations that are seen directly by officers in the field.

Although the rules also allow for stationary operations or raids at certain points, Komarudin said his party was not necessarily implementing it massively.

Because the condition of the capital's heavy traffic is the main consideration so that the operation does not trigger congestion.

"We see the situation on the ground. With the density of Jakarta, it is unlikely that a stationary one will be carried out because the operation should not make it even more congested," he added.

So, continued Komarudin, his party prefers the hunting system, or spreading on various roads and immediately taking action on violations of the naked eye that are found.

"Our members will be more spread out. Violations that are seen immediately will be dealt with on the spot," he concluded.
