Reporter of the Case of Allegations of Jokowi's Degree Requests the Metro Police to Arrest the Suspect

JAKARTA - The reporter of the case of alleged dissemination of the false certificate of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo asked the investigators of the Polda Metro Jaya to immediately arrest and detain the suspects after the case file was declared complete or P21.

The request was made by the Red and White Legal Team following the announcement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya which stated that the case file for the case had been declared complete by the investigator prosecutor of the DKI Jakarta High Court.

The Secretary General of the United Peradi, Ade Darmawan, said that the next stage after the file was declared complete was the transfer of suspects and evidence or stage two to the public prosecutor.

Therefore, his party asked investigators to take steps to detain the suspects who were included in the second cluster of cases, including Roy Suryo.

"We ask the Metro Jaya Police Chief and the Director of Criminal Investigation to arrest and detain the suspects in cluster two," Ade told reporters, Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Ade assessed that the request was in line with the development of the ongoing legal process. According to him, during the investigation process there were suspects who were considered uncooperative.

He accused a number of suspects, including Roy Suryo and Tifauziah Tyassuma, of still making statements that were considered slander, lies, and hate speech through various media platforms.

On this basis, the Red and White Legal Team considers that there are sufficient reasons for investigators to consider the step of detention in accordance with applicable laws.

Ade also referred to the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code which regulate the objective conditions for detention, including a criminal threat of more than five years and the potential to repeat the same act.

"Based on these considerations, it is very urgent for the investigators of the Polda Metro Jaya to carry out arrests and detentions for 20 days as provided for by applicable regulations," he said.

However, the decision on detention is entirely the authority of the investigators based on the needs of the legal process, evidence, and applicable laws and regulations.

The Director of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin, previously stated that the case file for the case of alleged false diplomas of Joko Widodo had been declared complete or P21 by the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office.

"The prosecutor has stated to this day that the case file we sent to the DKI High Prosecutor's Office no longer requires fulfillment of the deficiencies that we filled in yesterday," said Iman.

According to him, investigators are currently coordinating with the prosecutor's office regarding the schedule for the second phase.

"So we are currently coordinating to hand over the responsibility for evidence and the suspects," he said.
