The seminar entitled "Saring sebelum Sharing" for SMP students at the school will be held on June 5, 2026 at the Perguruan Cikini Multimedia Room, Jakarta.
The seminar will present speakers from the Secretary of the Directorate General of Digital Space Supervision at the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) RI, Mediodecci Lustarini, Secretary of the Master of Communication Studies Program at Paramadina University, Wahyutama, Ph.D., Lecturer of the Master of Communication Studies Program at Paramadina University, Dr. Tatik Yuniarti, M.I.Kom, Student of the Master of Communication Studies Program at Paramadina University, Alfadillah, and moderated by Diaz Ajeng Pardila, who is also a student of the Master of Communication Studies Program at Paramadina University.
According to the chairman of the organizing committee, Alfadillah, this event is designed to equip students with critical and ethical thinking skills in the digital space, especially in utilizing social media.
"We see that SMP Perguruan Cikini has best practices to support a healthy digital ecosystem in the school environment. At the same time, the government is currently carrying out socialization of Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in the Protection of Children, which is called PP Tunas. This PP seeks to foster a healthy digital ecosystem among the younger generation. Meanwhile, the Head of the Perguruan Cikini Junior High School, Sugeng Ependi, S.Si, welcomed this collaborative initiative positively. According to him, this educational seminar came at the right time in the midst of the increasing need for efforts to cultivate digital competence in the face of various state impacts on the use of the internet.
"We welcome the collaborative initiative from students of Paramadina University. We believe that this activity will be very useful in shaping the character of our students to be wiser, smarter, and ethical in disseminating and receiving information in the online realm," explained Sugeng Ependi.
The Head of the Master of Communication Science Program at Paramadina University, Juni Alfiah Chusjairi, S.I.P., M.Si., Ph.D, said that this student initiative is the implementation of one of the three pillars of Higher Education, namely community service. "Through this activity, students are expected to contribute to the community through the knowledge they apply and practice. In addition, they also learn from the community, especially from the educational activities organized by the Cikini School," said Juni.
The seminar is planned to be attended by 70 students in addition to parents of students who are members of the Perguruan Cikini Junior High School School Committee. The expected results from this seminar are measurable improvement in student digital literacy as indicated by the pre-test and post-test scores.
