Pancasila Birthday, Prabowo Talks about World Conflicts and Global Uncertainty

President Prabowo Subianto highlighted the increasing global conflicts and uncertainties while leading the 2026 Pancasila Birthday Ceremony at the Pancasila Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, Monday, June 1. According to him, in the midst of a world that is increasingly divided due to geopolitical rivalries and various international conflicts, Indonesia has a strong foundation in the form of Pancasila.

In his message as the inspector of the ceremony, Prabowo emphasized that the theme of the Pancasila Birthday this year, namely *"Pancasila Uniting the Nation, the Foundation of World Peace",* is very relevant to the current world situation which is facing various challenges.

"In the midst of a world that is increasingly divided by disputes, geopolitical rivalries, trade wars, and economic uncertainties, Indonesia has a firm grip. That grip is Pancasila," said Prabowo.

According to the President, Pancasila is not only the basis of the state or a historical document, but a guideline that must be the direction in community life, nation, and state.

"Pancasila is a guideline for regulating national life, community life, and state life. Including how we build our national economic system," he said.

Prabowo emphasized that the values of Pancasila have proven to be able to maintain Indonesian unity in the midst of diversity of ethnicity, religion, language, and culture. Therefore, he assessed that Pancasila can also be an important foundation in facing increasingly complex global challenges.

The 2026 Pancasila Birthday Ceremony took place solemnly at the Pancasila Building and was attended by national figures, heads of state institutions, and members of the Red and White Cabinet.

The President arrived at the location at around 09.35 WIB using the Maung tactical vehicle and was greeted by Foreign Minister Sugiono, Head of the Pancasila Ideological Development Agency (BPIP) Yudian Wahyudi, MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and a number of other state officials.

The atmosphere of the commemoration was enlivened by the presence of hundreds of elementary school students who greeted the President while waving the Red and White flags.

The series of ceremonies began with the honor of greatness and silence to commemorate the services of the nation's heroes. MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani read the text of Pancasila, while the Chairman of the DPD Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin read the opening of the 1945 Constitution.

The ceremony was then closed with a prayer reading by the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti, followed by Andhika Bhayangkari, the report of the ceremony commander, and the National Salute.

The 2022 Pancasila Birthday Anniversary was also attended by the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri, the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, and the 13th Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, along with the heads of the higher institutions of the state and officials at the ministerial level.
